How to prepare your new home before you move in part 2

Before you move into your new home, there are many things that you’ll need to do in order to get it ready.

When moving day finally comes around, you want your new home to be ready for you to move into it. While you may not realize it, there are many things that need to be done prior to your move. In our last blog, our movers in Orlando went over several of the steps you’ll need to take in order to get your house move-in ready. Keep reading to learn more things that need to be done to get your house ready:

#4. Get the carpets cleaned.

Did you know that carpets can act as an air filter? This means that all of the dust, dirt and bacteria left behind by the old owners remain deep down in the carpets that were left behind, and unfortunately, a simple vacuum won’t do the trick. Professional carpet cleaning is a must.

#5. Paint the walls.

Painting the walls is not absolutely necessary, but there’s no better way to make the home feel like it’s truly yours. When you pick our your paint colors, get the whole family involved so that everyone has a say.

#6. Make any necessary repairs.

Most houses aren’t going to be perfect, and there are probably several things in your new home that will need a little attention before you move in. Making any necessary repairs now will save you from having to complete them while unpacking and settling in.
