There are several things that you’ll need to do to get your new home ready for you to move in.

There’s nothing more exciting than moving into a new home! Whether you are going to be down the street or across the country, moving gives you the chance to start fresh. But before you take advantage of our moving services in Leesburg, there are a few things that you’ll need to do in order to make your new home move-in ready, including:

#1. Get the locks changed.

Changing the locks is the first and most important item on this list. Even if the old owners have given you all of the keys they have, you never know who they’ve made copies for over the years. Changing the locks will not only give you the peace of mind in knowing that no one else has a key to your home, but it’ll also help to protect your family and your belongings.

#2. Thoroughly clean your new home.

There’s nothing worse than living in mess that was left by someone else, and even if the previous owners cleaned the house for you, it’s still a good idea to disinfect as much as possible. Wash down the walls, the cabinets, the floors, plumbing fixtures, etc.

#3. Clean the ducts and air filters.

If the heating and cooling ducts are dirty in your new home, you’ll be breathing in a lot of bacteria without even knowing it, and the same goes for any air filters you have in your home. Those things need to be cleaned regularly, but it’s always a good idea to have it done before you move in.
