Whether you are moving down the street or across the country, there is always plenty to do during any move.
Although moving is a lot of work, you can drastically cut down on your work by de-cluttering your home before you start packing and planning. The less stuff you have to pack and move, the easier and faster your move will be. In our last blog, our moving company in Daytona Beach went over the first few steps to de-clutter your home. Keep reading to learn about the last couple steps:
Step #4. Prepare yourself to say goodbye.
It’s not always easy to say goodbye to your things, especially if you have some sort of emotional connection or memory tied to them. However, you simply cannot hang on to everything, and if your things have been sitting in your storage unit or garage and you haven’t even looked at them for a few years, it is time to say goodbye. Be strong and prepare yourself to say goodbye to the things you don’t actually need anymore, visit this website
Step #5. Pack and label everything.
Regardless of whether you plan on keeping something or giving it away, it will need to be packed and labeled. Taking extra time to pack and label now will save you a lot of frustration down the road. Another great way to stay organized is by also color coding your boxes. Color coding allows you to easily see which pile is which, without actually having to take the time to read your labels, just make sure that remember what each color means.
After everything is sorted, packed and labeled, you can give it away, sell it, throw it away or keep it. Although de-cluttering your home is rarely fun, it will make your moving experience so much easier and less stressful! Contact us today if you have any questions or concerns.
