Unpacking can be a pain, but it doesn’t have to be!
Moving feels like the last step in the process, but the fact of the matter is that you still have to unpack all of your boxes. The good news is that there are many things you can do to make unpacking faster and easier. In our last blog, our Central Florida moving company went over a couple of unpacking tips. Keep reading to learn more!
#3. Set up your furniture before you start unpacking.
Before you unpack even a single box, you will want to set up your furniture. The stuff that people pack in boxes are often odds and ends that need a place to be put away, and if your furniture isn’t set up yet, there’s a good chance that you won’t have a place to put your stuff. Kitchens and bathrooms are exceptions to this rule, but for every other room in your home, set up your furniture first!
#4. Unpack the essentials first.
Don’t wear yourself out setting your DVD or book collection up, only to find out that you have to dig around for your toothbrush or a towel! Unpack your essentials before you unpack anything else. These will often include a few dishes, toiletries, towels, your bed and anything else you may need that night.
#5. Make your new house feel like home!
Before you get too overwhelmed with unpacking, put some of your artwork on the walls. Yes, we know that we just told you to unpack the essentials first, but hanging a few pictures on the wall won’t take all that long, and it will make your house feel a lot more like your home, plus it will remind you what you are working so hard for.
