In our previous blog, our expert moving company went over a few tips that will help make your move as stress-free as possible. To recap, we’ve already talked about utilizing professional moving services, traveling light and labeling everything! The following is a list of the last few tips we have come up with to take the stress out of your move.
Tips to make your move stress-free:
- Don’t procrastinate – If you wait until the last minute to start preparing for your move, you will be kicking yourself later on. Avoid the last-minute scramble by starting to prepare for your move early. Give yourself more time than you need. If you think it will take you a week to get ready for your move, give yourself three!
- Gather more packing materials than you need – Think you have just enough to pack your home? Without fail, something will happen, and you will end up needing more tape or another box, so be prepared for anything by gathering more packing materials than you think you will actually need.
- Make a moving day survival kit – There will be a lot going on when moving day finally rolls around, and the last thing that you want is to have to open boxes you’ve already packed to find things you need. Make a survival kit for moving day that includes everything you might need, including a toothbrush, bandaids, phone chargers, extra clothes, etc.
- Make arrangements for your kids and pets – Keeping track of pets and kids while attempting to facilitate a move can be a real challenge, so make it easy by making other arrangements ahead of time. Check your pet into a kennel for the day and schedule a play date for your kids.
