The Pros Of Renting A Home

Is renting the right choice for you?

Mortgage rates are very low right now, but all signs point to higher rates in the near future. This has many renters thinking about making the leap to homeownership, but you should never rush into the decision to buy a home. Making the choice to rent or to buy isn’t easy, and there are pros and cons to each decision. Today, our movers in Leesburg will be going over the pros of renting a home over buying a home:

#1. No long-term commitments are required.

Unless you are planning on flipping a home or renting it out, when you buy a home, you are making a long-term commitment to live there. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t move or that you are stuck there forever, but if you rent, it is much easier for you to stay flexible and live where you want.

#2. You don’t have to worry about depreciation.

The housing market changes all the time, and as we learned back in 2008, not all of those changes are beneficial for homeowners. Deprecitiation is a major concern for homeowners, but if you rent a home, you don’t ever have to think about it!

#3. You won’t have to deal with maintenance.

When you buy a home, you are making an investment, and if you want to protect that investment, you have to maintain it properly. This means that you’ll need to keep up on the maintenance of the home, including the plumbing, electrical systems and the roof. Luckily, renting means that, when something breaks, you won’t have to put in the time or the money to repair it.

In our next blog, we’ll be going over the cons of renting a home, so stay tuned to learn more.
