Tips for a childproof move

Kids and moving don’t always mix.

Moving is often stressful and hectic, which too often leaves kids unsupervised and bored, a combination that can easily lead to trouble, especially when there are so many dangerous objects around. At AAA Insta-Move, our goal is to help you to enjoy a stress-free move, and we know that keeping your kids safe and out of trouble is a big part of that. That is why our moving company in Central Florida has come up with the following tips for a childproof move:

#1. Schedule your move around your kids.

If your children are old enough to be in school, it will be much easier for you to schedule your move during the morning or early afternoon on a weekday. That way, your kids are taken care of and you don’t have to worry about them. If your children are young, you could arrange for them to stay with their grandparents or a friend while you are moving. Unfortunately, having the luxury to schedule a move around kids isn’t always possible for everyone, but if you can, take advantage of it.

#2. Handle dangerous items properly.

There are many things that could be potentially dangerous during your move, including cleaning supplies, sharp objects, tools and medications. Make sure that all of these things get put away promptly after use and that you store them out of reach. You should also watch our for items that could easily be tripped over or heavy appliances and pieces of furniture that could easily topple over.
