Tips for moving with pets part 3

Are you getting ready to move with a pet?

While you may think that your pets have it easy during your move, moving is actually very stressful for pets. That is why, in our last blog, our movers in Kissimmee gave you a few helpful tips to make it easier to move with your pets. If you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, check it out now! Keep reading to learn about our last few tips for moving with pets:

#6. Make sure you have easy access to food and medication.

You never know what could happen during your move, and there are many circumstances that could prevent you from getting your boxes or getting to your new house as planned. That is why it is always a good idea to have at least a week’s worth of food and medications (if they have a prescription) on hand for your pet.

#7. Keep your pet in their crate or on a leash until you get inside.

After all of that traveling, your pet is going to be very excited to get out of the car. However, even if they are well behaved, you should keep them on their leash or in their crate until you get inside your new home. They aren’t likely to recognize the new house as home at first, and if you let them free before you get inside, they may run somewhere else.

#8. Keep your pet out of the chaos.

There is likely to be quite a bit of chaos on moving day. Keep your pets out of chaos by giving them access to a single room in the house that is filled with their toys, treats and anything else they need to be comfortable.
